PRECIOUS RAW MATERIALS
Bontoni recognizes that master craftsmanship and creative design can only be properly expressed by using the highest quality materials available.
Bontoni’s obsession with the ultimate materials is expressed in every detail of our shoes. The oak bark leather soles, nickel buckles, supple calfskin linings, and everything in between have been scrupulously selected from suppliers who represent the finest level of quality in their field.
Our pursuit of quality materials and leather is unwavering. We work tirelessly with each one of our suppliers to share creative ideas and to develop and test new materials and techniques. Bontoni sources leathers and skins from the most reputable Italian tanneries; looking for the highest quality, most supple, and durable hides, with the finest grain available.
The calfskin originates from the Swiss Alps, France, and England. Bontoni inspects every centimeter of hide to ensure that the pores are consistent throughout and that the slightest hints of imperfections (tick bites, scars) are omitted.
With time and wear, these leathers conform even more to the shape of the foot and develop their own remarkable and unique patina. Bontoni would not be the same without our uncompromising eye for materials.
